SONS AND LOVERS

Mixed media

760 x 740

With a colour palette lighter but not far from that of 'EVERYDAY' and a background technique similar to 'GINKGOS AND DRAGONS', here men are painted stripped of their uniforms and engaged in everyday activities.  A gold penwork curtain of leaves, neither hiding nor of the 'Ficus' plant makes a dominant third layer.  The title is from D H Lawrence.  Painted especially for and shown at the 'gay pride' festival, Manchester.
